Well, since 2001 the clan has been in the spotlight several times. Back in 2002 a GM asked in advance to help him make a new trailer for the AO site and they chose our clan to assist him. We do not know the identities of the other people who helped make the trailer.
The movie can still be viewed
here at the official AO website.
Here is a rundown of our part in the Trailer:
The yalm leaving from the northwest corner of Athen is Windguard.
The 7 people buffing in the base near the Longest Road Omni-Tek Mine is Windguard (in white uniform in front of the line of members), Major Ebou and another 5 members (Lieutenant-General Melayie, Lieutenant Arzhul, General Nirad (Without armor), Private Pravlance and another Mercury Dragon whom I do not recall his/her name at this time).
The yalm over the water in Athen being attacked by the shark is Windguard again.
Then you see the omni guard open fire on us (which cuts into a shot of the center of Tir and then inside a shop), then you see Windguard and Major Ebou laughing at the Happy Rebel.
After the Happy Rebel part you see all 7 dragons (after they buffed at the base near the mine) fighting inside the OT mine in Longest Road.
The yalms taking off from the top of the CoT building is Windguard again (they were following him in between the shots without telling him they were still recording).
After the two yalm shots it goes back to the 7 dragons fighting in the OT Mine in Longest Road (nice close-up they did on Ebou).
A few other shots pass and they again (of course) the 7 dragons in the OT Mine getting attacked by more guards.
In other words, Mercury Dragons pretty much helped make more than half of the new trailer, the video is not as high res as I expected, but doing so would probably make it like a 50 meg trailer which is not something many people would download back in 2002. The Bigger version is 13.8 Mb and the smaller one is 7.24 Mb so go check it out!The original AO website had a section featuring the Voice of Freedom publication, which allowed players to put out articles through it. That section was removed a few years ago as the site was redone completely. Mercury Dragons was heavily featured in the VoF section by participating in official and player-run events.
During the beta testing of Alien Invasion, we were once again asked to help in the making of a trailer for the then upcoming expansion. You can see it
here at the official AO site.
Here is a rundown of our part in the Trailer:
About 1:15 into the trailer, the fight scene is made up of mercury dragons fighting the aliens; about 15 seconds of glorious battle, whch we won by the way.
We saw the GM place the aliens in two rows for a dramatic effect during the production.TO BE CONTINUED...
